First Tactical Projects Ltd (FTP) presented its proposed 25MW Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) at Port Nigg to Alan McKinnie's team at The Highland Council on 18 December 2025. Reception was genuinely positive for an early-stage engagement, with a follow-up meeting already scheduled for Q1 2026 — focussed on feedstock — reflecting constructive momentum from both sides.
The discussions form part of FTP's broader pre-planning strategy for the Port Nigg ERF, designed to deliver reliable, low-carbon power in support of the Inverness & Cromarty Firth Green Freeport.
